Global Language Library
Celebrating our city’s diverse student population through reading.
The Global Language Library has distributed 13,530 books in a variety of world languages since 2022.
Teachers’ Treasures’ Global Community Library obtains and distributes books representing a global assortment of languages, reading levels, and cultures to teachers and their students throughout Marion County. Students and teachers from all backgrounds will have access to books that reflect the languages and cultures that they represent.
We could not keep the shelves stocked without the support of our donors and partners below!

As the educational community in Marion County continues to grow and change, Teachers’ Treasures strives to be responsive to the needs of our teachers and staff who are directly serving the needs of a culturally diverse student population.
Through surveys, direct conversations with constituents, and observing our inventory, we have identified an urgent need in classrooms for books that reflect the languages and backgrounds of our students. By providing a source for a broad selection of books in these languages, Teachers’ Treasures will be serving specific curriculum needs, and providing tools that promote emotional wellness, inclusion, and academic growth. We are proud that on September 8th, 2022, with the assistance of Indianapolis Indians Charities as a Founding Sponsor, we were able to make the first books available to our teachers in our Global Language Library. We soon learned that this exciting project was only just beginning. As the school year continues, and we strengthen the GLL's impact and sustainability, we are excited to once again have the opportunity to work with Indianapolis Indians Charities as a supporter of our educational community.

Our educational community needs a global community to support it:
Volunteer with your company, church, or school to sort and stock books and help in other sections of the store.
We're always looking for volunteer translators!

We are always looking for stories, photos, and testimonials from teachers, students, and families who have benefited from the GLL! These stories help us share the importance of the GLL and the importance of the international culture of our city! Please email your content to hanna@teacherstreasures.org
